The 11th Be Basque Talent Conference held in London has been a complete success
- 40 Basque organizations and over 150 Basque professionals resident in the United Kingdom took part in this international event, which featured more than 700 individual professional encounters, together with workshops, company presentations and debates.
On the 6th October ETC Venues St Paul’s hosted a new edition of the Be Basque Talent Conference, an event organized by Bizkaia Talent and which on this occasion also featured the collaboration of the Gipuzkoa Talent initiative. The aim of the event was to link up Basque organizations and highly qualified Basque professionals who are currently residing in the United Kingdom and to bring the latter up to date with the latest trends and opportunities in the Basque Country labour market with a view to a potential return to the Basque Country. It been the eleventh edition of the Be Basque Talent Conference organized by Bizkaia Talent since the inaugural event in Munich in 2008.
The 150 professionals who attended the event are currently working in sectors such as the car industry, the aeronautical industry, machine tools and IT, amongst others. As well as participating in the information sessions presented by the organizations, the professionals attending the event had the opportunity to take an active part in an open debate forum together with thematic workshops and over 700 individual professional meetings took place with representatives of the Basque companies that were present at the event. Even the networking lunch was personalized with a view to maximizing interaction between professionals and organizations in accordance with potential for mutual collaborations and shared interests.
The Managing Director of Bizkaia Talent Ivan Jimenez made a very positive assessment of the event, emphasising “the quality of the talent available in London, 90% of which has expressed the desire to return to Euskadi over the next five years, which means that this type of event is of great importance to professionals who have this goal, and to organizations that are looking for this kind of talent with international experience to help them to advance in their businesses.
Be Basque Talent Network: 11,000 professionals and 330 companies
The Be Basque Talent Network is the biggest network of highly qualified professionals who are, or who wish to be linked with the Basque Country, independently of their country of origin. Launched by Bizkaia Talent in 2015, the network currently has 11,000 professionals registered from over 100 countries around the world as well as 330 organizations, and its aim is to put professional people working all over the world in touch with each other and with Basque companies in order to facilitate talent movement and promote professional and/or commercial relationships.
