Bizkaia Talent takes the reality of the Basque Country to Düsseldorf thanks to a new Be Basque Talent Meeting with highly-qualified Basque professionals in the area
Last Thursday, 16 November, the German city of Düsseldorf took center stage as it was the venue of the latest Be Basque Talent Meeting. These meetings are devised and promoted by Bizkaia Talent and aim at gathering highly-qualified Basque professionals who are currently developing their professional careers abroad. They also aim at incorporating all these Basque men and women into the extensive network of professionals who make up the Be Basque Talent Network. At present it comprises more than 9,000 highly-qualified people who are or want to be in contact with the social and economic reality of the Basque Country as well as more than 300 Basque organizations.
For over an hour, the more than 25 people who attended the meeting listened to the managing director of Bizkaia Talent, Ivan Jimenez, describe the professional situation in the Basque Country at present as well as the forecast for the future, according to the information and the data provided by companies and cluster associations.
Essential meetings for the Basque business network
Jimenez explained that “for the Basque Country in general, it is important to reinforce the contact and collaboration networks with these Basque professionals, since Basque companies are demanding a larger number of workers with very specific academic profiles, some of whom are working abroad and are essential for the development of key projects”.
The professionals who attended this event come from various areas of knowledge, such as Economics, Business, Law, Engineering and new technologies or biosciences amongst others. Most of them have been working in the metropolitan area of Düsseldorf for more than five years.
“This year there have been other Be Basque Talent Meetings in strategic points for talent attraction such Dublin and Zurich as well as the recently held tenth edition of the Be Basque Talent Conference with more than 160 professionals and around thirty Basque organizations”, the managing director of Bizkaia Talent concluded.
