Bizkaia Talent, a successful case study at the World Employer Branding Day in Amsterdam
- The Basque association shared its experience on how to promote an employer branding strategy to help companies to attract qualified talent, theirs being the only example of territorial management at the global level present at the event.
On the 10th of October the DeLaMar Theatre in Amsterdam hosted The World Employer Branding Day, the biggest employer branding conference in the world which brought together over 800 leaders and professionals from the sector with the aim of promoting excellence in employer branding practices and constructing modern, people-focused companies. Among the companies present at the event were many big names such as Nokia, McKinsey & Company, Pepsico, PwC and DHL.
Bizkaia Talent was one of the examples of a success story taking part in the conference, focusing its participation on how to articulate actions to ensure that its place branding strategy, something which it has worked on relentlessly since it started, is aligned with the employer branding of Bizkaia’s companies. The presentation was acknowledged as the only example of territorial management at the global level amongst all the case studies presented at the event.
Having presented the services offered and the strengths of the territory, the representatives of the Basque association went on to present the “Talent Strategy”, a program created to help companies to design and align their talent strategies and to a create a solid business community to promote the shared growth of Bizkaia. This initiative, which is within the framework of the “Bizkaia with the talent” strategy of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, is developed in collaboration with the Faculty of Business Studies at Mondragon University, and, in its opening edition, it has provided training to 25 companies in the province.
“It has provided a unique opportunity to discover the most innovative practices at the global level in the field of employer branding and to get to know the leaders who are implementing such practices. Furthermore, it has enabled us to position our territory and showcase the work which we have been doing on a daily basis to promote the growth of Bizkaia and its business network”, stated Ivan Jimenez and Leire Lagunilla, responsible for delivering the case-study at Amsterdam, at the end of the conference.
