Bizkaia Talent links up students and companies in key sectors of the Basque Country
- 218 students from both Bizkaia and abroad explore work opportunities together with five clusters and thirteen companies.
Between the 18th and the 22nd of November, Bizkaia Talent organized a series of sectorial encounters with the aim of strengthening the links between the university talent of the three Basque universities (UPV/EHU, Deusto University and Mondragon University) and the business ecosystem of the Basque Country.
The events were attended by 218 youngsters, divided between the participants of the Talentia Skills programme which brings together the students with the highest potential in Bizkaia, and the Be Basque Ambassadors programme, the aim of which is to create loyalty amongst international Master and PhD students by means of fostering their social and professional integration in the province.
Over the course of six sectorial encounters, the participants were able to explore the characteristics and trends of strategic sectors such as metalworking, energy, the railway industry, artificial intelligence, entrepreneurship and ICT. Furthermore, the companies divulged which are currently the most in-demand skills.
5 clusters and 13 companies
Five clusters and thirteen companies took part in these events, representing key sectors in the Basque business ecosystem. Representing the metalworking sector were FVEM and Sidenor; the energy sector was represented by the Basque Country Energy Cluster and Ormazabal; the railway industry by Mafex, CAF and Vicomtech; artificial intelligence by BAIC, Lantek and Tekniker; entrepreneurship by Beaz Bizkaia, Batterie Ingenieure, The Art of Discovery and Vitrocaulis; and finally ICT by the GAIA cluster, Ingeteam, NTT Data and RDT Ingenieros.
