World’s Best Cities 2024, a ranking of the world’s best urban destinations to live in, visit and invest in, has included Bilbao in its 100 best cities list. The top three spots go to London, Paris and New York respectively.
“Smart, safe and economically vibrant, Bilbao is redesigning the European good life”, the report states, and it also highlights the Basque city as “one of Europe’s most welcoming cities”. Indeed, it draws in first place with Valencia for its Walk Score (ease of pedestrian mobility) and is in 19th place for its biking infrastructure.
The report also praises the educational attainment of the human capital of Bilbao with respect to other cities. Specifically, the capital of Bizkaia is in 15th place in terms of the percentage of the population with a bachelor’s degree or higher qualification.
