Bizkaia launches the 2025 talent attraction programme to promote the hiring of qualified professionals who are working outside the Basque Country
- The maximum amount of the subsidy per contract will be 30,000 euros.
The Economic Promotion Department of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia has launched a programme which will make it easier for companies in Bizkaia to hire highly qualified professionals who are currently working outside the Basque Country.
The aim of the talent attraction programme is to facilitate and support the attraction, repatriation, linking and retaining in Bizkaia of highly qualified and experienced professionals living and working outside the Basque Country, so that they can continue their professional careers in Bizkaia.
The amount of the subsidy for each of the years 2025 and 2026 will be 20% of the gross annual fixed salary specified in the employment contract, with a maximum of 15,000 euros per year. The maximum amount of the subsidy per contract will be 30,000 euros.
The contracted professionals must satisfy the following requirements:
- Have a university degree.
- Have a legal full- or part-time work contract, on the condition that the working relationship with the applicant company initiated after the 1st January 2024, and this must be of the nature of a permanent contract by the 30th June 2025.
- The legalised work contract must have a minimum annual gross salary of 40,000 euros.
- Have a minimum of 5 years’ work experience in the field for which the person has been contracted and in which s/he will carry out his/her professional activities.
- Have at least 5 years’ work experience in the field of the job for which he/she is being recruited.
- Have carried out professional activities outside the Basque Country for at least 36 of the 48 months prior to the date of recruitment.
