The MC-Biscay Boot Camp programme takes off to prepare ten startups to access the Mass Challenge Startup Accelerator programmes in Boston

Following the agreement signed by the Provincial Council and Mass Challenge, the major startup accelerator in the world, to connect entrepreneurs and startups from Bizkaia with markets, networks and investors from the global innovation ecosystem, it is now time for the MC-Biscay Boot Camp programme to start. This programme will prepare ten startups to access the programmes of the accelerator in Boston for four days.

At the end of the boot camp to be held that week, at least the top three teams/startups will be “fast-tracked” into the semifinals. This means that these organizations will be closer to becoming participants in the Mass Challenge accelerator 2016 and therefore finalists.

The application period for the MC-Biscay Boot Camp started on 9 December and will last until 19 January 2016.

The names of the 20 semifinalists will be announced on 3 February and their evaluation to reach the final will be carried out during the week starting on 8 February.

The 10 finalists to participate in the BOOT Camp to be held between 6 and 11 March will be announced on 12 February.

To participate it is necessary to meet several requirements and indications:

• At least one co-founder of the organization must be based in the Basque Country.
• Startups from all sectors are eligible and it is no necessary to have a focus on the USA market.
• The official language of the programme and the application is English.
• The participating organization must be in the early stage, which is defined as less than 500,000 dollars in dilutive funding and less than one million dollars in annual revenues.
