Reunions and diversity at the international community’s end-of-year party

- Around 70 people from 16 countries attended the event which was held at the BBK Talent Home in Bilbao
On the 13th December Bizkaia Talent organized its traditional end-of-year party at the BBK Talent Home in Bilbao. This annual event gathers together a wide representation of the international community living and working in the Basque Country, including highly qualified professionals, research workers and their families, as well as international students who are currently studying in universities in Bizkaia.
The evening event was full of special moments, and outstanding amongst these was the now traditional gastronomic competition, in which each participant had the chance to present a typical dish of their country. Furthermore, the night was marked by encounters and reunions which strengthened the links between the participants.
On this occasion, the event was attended by people from 16 different countries: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, South Korea, France, Iran, Italy, Japan, Mexico, The Netherlands, Pakistan, Peru, Russia and the Spanish State. This reflects the multicultural nature of the activity and underlines the importance of initiatives which promote sociocultural integration in the Basque Country.
With this end-of-year party Bizkaia Talent brings to a close a year of sociocultural activities aimed at facilitating integration and enriching the experience of foreigners who have chosen the Basque Country as a personal and professional destination. Highlights of the year included a tree-planting event in the Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve, sailing up the estuary of the River Nervion, and discovering daily rural life in the Basque Country.
