Travel + Leisure places San Sebastian amongst the 15 best cities in the world

- San Sebastian is the only city in the Spanish State which features in the “25 Best Cities in the World” ranking of places to visit.
The New York magazine Travel + Leisure, which boasts 4.8 million readers worldwide, has published the results of the votes for its World’s Best Awards, an annual readership assessment of different kinds of tourist destinations: islands, hotels, cities, cruises, etc.
San Sebastian features in the top 25 of the cities category. The Basque city occupies 15th place on the list with a score of 88.87 out of a hundred, just behind Rome.
The top 25 cities ranking features 10 cities in Asia, 9 in Europe, 5 in America and 1 in Africa. Top spot goes to San Miguel de Allende in Mexico with 93.54 points, followed by Udaipur in India (91.63), with Istanbul in Turkey closing the top three in third place with 91.32 points.
The second best small city in the world
This is not the only award San Sebastian has received in recent times, as it has also been rated as the second best small city in the world by the travel magazine Condé Nast Traveller, in which 800,000 readers took part in the 34th edition of the Reader’s Choice Awards survey.
