Bizkaia Talent carries out a technical session about the regularization of highly qualified professionals and research workers

On the 23rd May, Bizkaia Talent carried out a technical session to inform companies about the latest developments with respect to the regularization of highly qualified professionals and research workers, within the framework of Law 14/2013 of the 27th September about support to entrepreneurs and their internationalization.
The event took place at Bilbao’s Chamber of Commerce, and it brought together over fifty representatives from different companies, all of whom had the opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge of the latest developments in legislation and to receive orientation.
The session was opened by Ms Carmen Méndez de Castro, who is responsible for Bizkaia Talent’s Relocation Service, and she provided advice on successfully contracting and integrating international talent, focusing on key questions such as the current nationality and place of residence of the individual, the activity to be carried out, or civil status, amongst others.
Following this, it was the turn of Mr Luis Esteban-Manzanares Fernández-Roldán, Deputy Director of Immigration and International Mobility (Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration). During his speech Mr Esteban-Manzanares presented the latest developments in legislation and provided a detailed update about the residence and work permits which allow highly qualified professionals to enter and remain in Spain for reasons of financial interest – the blue and national card -, research workers – national and EU-, workers carrying out inter-company movements and the family members of these groups.
The event concluded with a networking space, in which the participants had the opportunity to exchange experiences and establish contacts. The attendants of the event valued the technical session positively, stressing the clarity and usefulness of the information provided, as well as the opportunity to resolve specific doubts.
