Slush, the great global startup event, arrives in Bilbao

- Over 200 investors from 20 different countries will get together in the Basque city with over 150 startups and key international innovation agents.
Slush, the renowned global innovation event held annually in Helsinki, Finland, has selected the ecosystem of Bizkaia and Bilbao to host its first edition in the south of Europe, following the holding of several editions in different countries across four continents in recent years.
Thanks to the support of the Basque Government, through its business development agency SPRI, and to the support of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia and the Bilbao City Council, the event will take place on the forthcoming 20th February at the Bilbao Exhibition Centre (BEC) where over 200 international investors, including VC, venture debt, corporate venture capital and business angels will meet up with over 150 startups and key international innovation agents, thus creating a bridge between the south of Europe and the Nordic-Baltic ecosystems.
Bilbao Slush’D is an extension of the Slush global event, designed to accelerate the growth of startups and connect local innovation ecosystems with the international community. In the Basque Country, the event will be adapted to the unique features of the region, thus facilitating the connection between the Nordic-Baltic ecosystems and the entrepreneurial dynamism of a leading innovation hub of the south of Europe, backed by entrepreneurship policies and the promotion of its companies and startups.
The event, led by BayLoop Ventures, will feature a full programme of panels with world-class experts, a startups competition, interactive workshops dedicated to scalability, sustainability and global business models, together with networking sessions which will promote strategic collaboration and the global transformation of the ecosystem.
