Bizkaia Talent launches the “Basque Spouses Programme” to assist the partners of professionals arriving from abroad with their employment insertion process
- 16 people from up to 12 different countries will benefit from this first edition of the programme.
International mobility continues to affect the life plans of highly qualified international workers. These days, providing support to the partners of these professionals is regarded as fundamental for their sociocultural and employment integration in their new destinations, a matter of key importance for the development of a couple’s life project.
Bizkaia Talent, fully aware of this need, has launched a new programme known as the Basque Spouses Programme, aimed at the partners of professionals who have arrived from abroad and are currently working in Bizkaia – Basque Country, or who simply wish to change direction in their professional careers. While Bizkaia Talent has long been closely involved with this collective, providing orientation and support, the association fostered by the Provincial Council of Bizkaia intends to take a step further with the creation of this programme which features within the framework of the Be Basque Dual Career Centre service.
The Basque Spouses Programme will offer the participants a global overview of the Basque Country’s company and scientific ecosystem, and of the different agents and programmes which exist regarding training, employability and entrepreneurship, which will be helpful in terms of their socio-occupational integration.
The programme, which will last for a period of eight weeks, will include a series of dynamics and workshops focused on key areas such as the construction of personal branding and the care of emotional wellbeing amongst others. Furthermore, there will be mentoring sessions designed to help the participants to achieve their maximum potential and relaunch their professional careers.
