- Bizkaia Talent has awarded diplomas to the students who have participated in the Talentia, Talentia Skills and Be Basque Ambassadors programmes.
On the 24th June Bizkaia Talent organised the diploma awards ceremony at the Engineering School of the University of Bilbao (UPV/EHU) for the 595 students who have participated in the Talentia Service programmes: Talentia Skills for the academic years 2019/2020, 2020/2021 and 2021/2022; Talentia programme for the academic years 2019/2020 and 2020/2021; and the Be Basque Ambassadors programme for the academic years 2019/2020, 2020/2021 and 2021/2022. This is due to the fact that owing to the pandemic, these students have had to wait until this year to receive their official diplomas.
Ms Ainara Basurko, Provincial Councillor for Economic Promotion of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, and Mr Fernando Tapia, Vice Chancellor of Students and Employability of the UPV/EHU, inaugurated the event with their respective speeches before the young talent with the greatest potential in the region who will face many of the challenges of the projects which will transform Bizkaia.
The Provincial Councillor stressed “the fundamental role played by the three Basque universities in the Provincial Council’s strategy to attract, retain and link up talent in the region – a strategy in which Bizkaia Talent is an essential player”. She went on to encourage the youngsters to continue with their academic training and she ensured them that “at the Economic Promotion Department we will continue working to create the necessary conditions for you to be able to develop your professional careers in Bizkaia”.
As one of several speakers at the event, Ms Idoia Postigo, the Managing Director of Bilbao Metropoli 30 congratulated the Talentia Skills participants for their involvement throughout the programme, while the Managing Director of Bizkaia Talent, Mr Ivan Jimenez, presented the Career Development Centre tool for the development of professional careers, together with the excellence grants on offer from the Provincial Council of Bizkaia.
