75 international professionals bid farewell to the year at the Relocation and Be Basque Dual Career service end-of-year party
- BBK Talent Home and the San Sebastian gastronomic space BIZI hosted a gathering of professionals from 29 different countries
On the 12th and 13th December, and in order to celebrate the festive season, Bizkaia Talent and Gipuzkoa Talent once again held the traditional Relocation and Be Basque Dual Career Centre service end-of-year party with the international community, thus continuing to reinforce the spirit of this service: the sociocultural integration into Basque society of all of these people who come from the far-flung corners of the world.
The 75 research workers and highly qualified professionals and their families who gathered in both Bilbao and San Sebastian come from the following countries: Albania, Germany, Algeria, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, China, Columbia, USA, Egypt, Philippines, Finland, France, India, Indonesia, Iran, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, Mongolia, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, Russia, Turkey, Venezuela and the Spanish State. A number of Basque professionals returning from abroad also attended the event.
In line with the annual tradition there was a gastronomic competition involving traditional dishes from all the countries represented at the event while the participants were introduced to several customs which are unique to Basque culture. The professionals and their families were thus able to exchange experiences and learn a bit about each other’s cultures in a warm and friendly environment.
It should be pointed out that all of these professionals are currently working in the Basque Country in organisations such as BC3, BCBL, BCAM, BCMaterials, Bilbao Berrikuntza Faktoria, Biocruces (Ikerbasque), Biofisica, CAF, DeustoTech, EIT Food, IDOM, Ikor, Irisbond, Nem Solutions, Polymat, SENER, Tecnalia, Deusto University, UPV/EHU, Vicomtech and Viralgen, amongst others.
