Main functionsThe Basque Centre for Climate Change (BC3) offers a full-time Pre Doctoral Researcher position linked to the Low Carbon research line.
About the Project:
The objective of the project is to develop a PhD Thesis analysing the current ownership of clean vehicles (BEV & PHEV) in Spain and in the European Union, and to provide key insights and derive evidence-based policy recommendations aimed at increasing the penetration of clean vehicles in households where they remain underrepresented due to socio-economic characteristics.
The aim is to inform on the best policy measures to:

boost the uptake of road electromobility (including BEV and PHEV, upon certain technical range criteria) by identifying what elements shape the access gap to those technologies;

reduce the dependence of people on combustion-privately owned vehicles through policy programs based on the principles of social leasing.
Job Description:
The selected candidate will work as a Pre Doctoral Researcher within the Low Carbon research group at BC3, contributing to the analysis of current adoption of Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV) in Spain and in the European Union.
The role involves conducting quantitative and qualitative research to assess the effectiveness of different policy measures designed to promote electromobility and reduce reliance on combustion engine vehicles.
The candidate will apply econometric and statistical techniques to analyse large datasets, provide insights into access gaps, and evaluate the potential of social leasing programs as a policy tool.
Additionally, the candidate will actively contribute to the broader work of the Low Carbon research group, engaging in interdisciplinary collaborations within BC3, and supporting research activities related to climate policy and sustainable mobility.

Main functionsWe offer a PhD position in Molecular Quantum Physics, focused on the nanoscale investigation of quantum states of molecules using a combination of low-temperature scanning tunneling microscopy and microwave spectroscopy.
The research project will integrate Electron Spin Resonance (ESR) with Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (STM), i.e., ESR-STM, to detect and manipulate individual spins embedded in graphene platforms.
The objective is to probe spin coherence time scales, investigate spin interactions, perform basic quantum operations, and demonstrate that atomically precise graphene platforms can serve as elementary units for quantum computation.
The PhD student, along with their research team, will develop novel strategies to implement the ESR-STM technique in fully controlled environments.
RequisitesThe successful candidate should hold a Master's Degree (or equivalent) in Physics, Materials Science, Nanotechnology, or a related field, and have a demonstrated background in experimental condensed matter physics, nanoscience, or a closely related discipline.

Main functionsAs part of a growing team in Bilbao, the Internal Governance Manager is responsible for solid, effective, and efficient Policy and Procedure Governance at Sibelco at the global level.
This will include amongst others, taking ownership of our Policy Code, ensuring the availability and proper execution of the policies and procedures approval process, with documentation, ensuring flawless and efficient organisation of the internal Governance housekeeping, as well as supporting the VP Internal Audit in establishing and updating several key governance instruments, such as the Group Delegation of Authority and Segregation of Duties policies.
Requisites-
With a Master’s Degree in Economics, Law, Finance or Audit.

3 to 5 years of professional experience in one or more of the following corporate areas: compliance, internal governance, internal audit, and enterprise risk management.

Experience gained preferably in a digitally mature environment, likely in the consultancy sector.

You must speak fluent English and ideally another language.
